Few Minutes Between Students
My 5:00 has rugby practice on Monday nights so I have a few minutes off as he has to leave early to be there on time. Hubby put a nail through his hand today. He called me from the hospital to calmly tell me this news. Sheesh. Well, he's back to work tomorrow, though he had to be stitched and his hand is bandaged up. He'll be just fine.
I am starting to really look forward to the lighter schedule that is due to begin in about three weeks' time. Of course, the income hit will hurt, but the extra sleep and time at my piano that I'll get will more than compensate.
I recently bought Vanilla Oreo cookies. They're sooooo goooood!!!!

Damn, your husband put a nail through his hand THEN had to go back to work?? What a raw deal.
I am going to have to check out the Oeros, thanks for the recommendation!
Spitting in a Wishing Well
Regular Oreos for me, thanks -- no double-stuff, no fancy Halloween colors, no accidentally-reversed... just plain old Oreos. Also, Pirate -- tag, you're it.
Hola. I was just checking out your blog cuz B2 tagged us both, and I figured I had to see what I'm up against. And though this here comment has nothing to do with your husband or a nail in a hand, I AM curious to hear your reactions to A Brief History of Everything. It's on my meme book list thingy, and I've tried to find other people who have been exposed to this Wilber guy... In my opinion, he's a purty darn smart dude. I enjoyed the hell outta ABHOE.
Poor Mr. P! He's going to be pretty sore until his hand heals up. I recommend plenty of BBC video therapy. :-)
Pirate, wow. Sorry husband has a nail in his hand!! Ouch!!
Devo, hey. :-)
Ken Wilber was a student of Adi Da's for a long while, and a lot of what he writes he ripped directly from Adi Da, and didn't give much credit, in fact did just the opposite for a while there.. He's since had a change of heart and thinks Adi Da's ok. Professional jealousy?
;-) ~Just had to mention that...
Hubby's better. Thanks for all your concern & can't-believe-it-he's going back to work sentiments.
Now I'm trying to lose some of that winter weight so the Oreo's (which I've just discovered) are off the list. Stacie: That's what you call a raw deal.
Devo: Thanks for stopping by. I've read Ken Wilber's "A Brief Theory of Everything", which I found irritating. It seemed like a fancy-bound pamphlet which did little else except market all his other books. "For more on this, read this book ..." "For a complete treatment of this topic, see this book ..." I think so much of what he says makes so much sense and I agree with a lot, though not all of it. Brief History of Everything I'm finding much better than A Brief Theory, though I find the format self-serving. I wish he'd just laid it out in good ol' academic essay style. I will spend a few minutes & read your entry on the books. I haven't got to mine yet.
Hey Pirate, just stopping by, waiting for another post.. I want some Oreos now.. lol
Glad husband's hand is better.
Mine came back last week with minor injuries, from a trip to Peru. He bit his lip somehow, and it swelled. He also sat down hard wrongly on a bus seat, an injured that cute little butt. He has a scar. Sad. ;-)
I'll be back soon with more. Thanks for popping by, Chandira.
